I am a veteran coming from a family were every generation has served since the begining of the USA. Joined on my 17 b-day. Gunner in the infantry"scouts" then Parapathfinder. Navy, communications/counter insurgency. Commissioned as a privateer by her Majesty the Queen of England.....I was a Pirate. Short time as a cop. Employed with Subcontractor for DoD- currently what they call a Soldier of Fortune or Mercenary. After all that returned to a country that was not what I understood it was supposed to be, educated in Military school until father retired and family move to mother's hometown in the Pacific Northwest at the foot of the Cascade mountains. Small town high school. Married the girl that was my first kiss, she told me one day we would be married. She passed a couple years after we married, no children. Married to another had children, raised them were together 24 years. She left after she inherited what she thought was wealth. Not really a conservative as much as what I would call a constitutionalist that document having been the most inspirational thing I have ever read. I have never read the Bible all the way through. Can not quote chapter and verse but I can quote article, section and paragraph. Single greatest thing I had ever read, believe in and would volunteer to fight for and over the course of my time in the military lead 8 men to their deaths in the service of something greater then self. My only regret is not knowing if the life I have enjoyed after has been meaningful enough to honor their sacrifice. Time will tell.
